Power Bill

The power price in New Zealand is really expensive compared with another countries in the world. In winter, it's not surprising if you get a power bill for more than $ 250 NZD / per month if you use any electric heater.

Hubby : Got the power bill today.
Wife :    How much?
Hubby : An arm and a leg.
Wife :    What?
Hubby : $ 250.
Wife :    Phew! I expected more. But still a lot of money, isn't it?
Hubby : Not much you can do about it really..... it's NZ.
Wife :    One of my friend her bill was $ 450 last month.
Hubby : Shocking! How did they manage that?
Wife :    Just the oil heaters and oven I guess, it's expensive to run those.
Hubby : For sure.

I've got to go to the toilet.
I've got to go to the loo.

目前在台灣, 若馬桶及浴缸淋浴間等是建造於同一個空間的情況下, 將" 我得去上廁所 " 翻譯成 I need to go to the bathroom. 是行得通的;

I need to go to the bathroom. 了, 而是以 " I need to go to the toilet.

Running out of Toilet Paper

Dion : Oh no ! There's no toilet paper left! Can you get me a roll?
Talking loudly to Tim who is in the lounge.
Tim :   Oh none left? You might have to use your hand.
Dion : Oh come on that's not funny!
Tim :   Wait, let me go find a roll.
Dion :  Quick!
                3 minutes later...

Tim : Yeah seriously there's no toilet paper left in the house!
Dion : Go buy some then!
Tim : Just kidding. Open the door.

Tim :
Dion :
Tim :
Dion :

Tim :
Dion :
Tim :

NZ nation food Fish n Chips

Fish n chips is the most popular food in NZ. Every little town has at least one fish n chips shop.
They are mostly located just outside of the main town which is near the residential area.

Fish n chips mainly has a whole bunch of fries and a few pieces of deep-fried battered white fish, and normally just simply seasoned with salt and grind black pepper, some people like to go with some kind of cream cheese dipping or Thai-style sweet chili sauce.

Seems like every New Zealander loves fish n chips, especially when they don't want to cook lunch or dinner, fish n chips is one of the top choices that they would choose. It's sufficient with reasonable price also fast to cook so even in some high end restaurants they serve fish n chips as well.
